This is the only representative (species) from the Mico genus in EAZA. The ex situ population should be used to educate visitors about callitrichid biology, ecology and conservation

This attractive, popular and "easy to care for" exhibit species gives EAZA institutions the opportunity to gain (and preserve) experience with callitrichid management and to maintain knowledge on mixed-species exhibits, while "blocking space" for future callitrichid species of conservation concern.
